Patton Attendance, Tardies and SecurityWhen your child is absent, a note explaining the reason for the absence needs to be sent when s/he returns to school. If a doctor was seen, a doctor's note is preferred. If you would like, You can click here to submit an Attendance Slip. Also, if your child is tardy to school, we put new procedures in place last fall. School starts at 7:30am each morning as the teachers begin taking the students out of the Gym and Cafeteria and to the classrooms. The tardy bell rings at 7:45am. If you arrive at school after 7:45, that will be considered a tardy to school. If you arrive between 7:45am and 8:00am, you may take your child directly to the classroom. Students arriving after 8:00am must sign in with their parent in the main office and receive a yellow tardy slip to be allowed in class. Also remember that leaving school early, in accordance with State guidelines, will also be documented as an absence if it is before 10:00am. Departures after 10:00am but before 2:30pm are documented as tardies. In addition, we have changed our office check-in procedures to increase the level of safety for our students. Beginning this school year, when you sign in to the office to enter Patton, you will be asked to present an identification card, such as a driver’s license. We will scan this identification in order to create an id nametag for you to wear. This nametag will now have your picture on it. On future visits to Patton, you will be able to sign yourself in and out at the raptor kiosk and print your own nametag. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we implement this new procedure. I am confident that it will only enhance our ability to keep all of our students at Patton safe and secure. If you have any questions or concerns about this new procedure, please feel free to contact Mr. Stevens.
